Rick Bogert "Outer Banks Line-up" - Oregon Inlet

This mixed media painting was one of my first, before painting for a living was even a dream for me. This painting was done in the late 90's after spending one of many weeks on the Outer Banks fishing for Marlin with good friends. It has become the painting that people know me by and my best seller around the world. It has been published in many magazines and is probably the most recognizesd paintings along the Eastern Shores. This image goes great in any room and the lighting on the water changes as the room lighting changes.

Rick Bogert "Furious" - Mahi Mahi

This watercolor painting was started and completed while on an extended stay in Guatemala. Working nights in my hotel room for nearly a month and during a full week of Earthquakes which made it very hard to sleep. I think this painting captures my mood at the time, the fury of a stormy night on the sea and the beautiful colors and detrmination of this hungry Dorado.

Rick Bogert "El Jefe Grande" - Swordfish

This acrylic on canvas of a Swordfish on a light stick was started in 2006 and completed in the spring of 2007. It started with the typical colors of Blue, but after taking an extended break on this canvas, I envisioned it as it is and reworked the entire painting. It is one of my favorites and and the Burnt Sienna overtone looks amazing in any room with wood furnishings.

Rick Bogert "Deep Blue" - Blue Marlin

This mixed media painting was completed in 2000 and depicts a Blue Marlin crashing through the surface after some schooling yellowfin tuna. I painted this piece from my mind as I thought of what might be happening when we see a disturbance on the ocean off in the distance. You know something big is happening and this is what comes to mind. An Amazing painting with brilliant blues for the true angler.

Rick Bogert "Anxious" - Pelican and Boats

This Acrylic on canvas was completed 2004/2005 time frame and was painted totally from my mind. It is a night scene of a marina that is anywhere you want it to be with a Pelican awaiting day break for his first meal. The name Anxious is also for the Fishermen that ready to leave for the deep. This is one of my most tranquil paintings and is a relaxing addition to any room.

Rick Bogert "Sailfish Ball" - Sailfish & Bait Ball

This 30 x 40 Acrylic on canvas was completed in 2005/2006 and was painted partially from a photo I had taken in Costa Rica while photographing underwater. The bait school was an addition along with the Sailfish closest to the surface. I had been jumping in the water while we had fish on the wire to get these shots. You can see more images in my photography page.

Rick Bogert "Off the Hook" - Blue Marlin

This 24 x 48 Acrylic on canvas was completed in 2006 and was painted from a photo I had taken in Costa Rica during one of the Los Suenos Signature Series Tournaments that year. It is a Blue Marlin in mid-air behind the transom and yes he is hooked and was released for 500 points. Off the Hook is the expression I would use on this fish as his acrobatics near the boat were spectacular. This is a rich painting with cyan and green undertones and is another favorite.

Rick Bogert "Relentless" - Sailfish

This 36 x 48 Acrylic on canvas was completed in 2006 and was also painted from a photo I had taken in Costa Rica during one of the Los Suenos Signature Series Tournaments that year. It is a Relentless Sailfish hooked and on his way to performing an incredible show. I held the shutter down and ran a continuous series of shots as this fish headed straight at the boat all the while spinning above the water surface. This is one of my most action packed paintings and is a favorite of anglers.

Rick Bogert "Ipswich Bay" - Lighthouse

This Acrylic on canvas was completed in 2007 and was also painted partially from a photo I had taken on my way to the Giant Tuna grounds out of Ipswich Bay in Massachussetts. The lighthouse itself has been painted true to form with some variation to it's surroundings to create a very warm affect. The colors of this painting lend itself to virtually any decor and will add warmth to any room. Although not my usual subject matter I truly enjoyed doing this painting and many of you had seen me working on this at some of the shows.
